The Center for Anglican Music

The Center for Anglican Music at Trinity Commons
In Residence at Saint Andrew's

Last August, Saint Andrew’s launched an exciting new ministry initiative in residence at our parish: The Center for Anglican Music. Rooted in the liturgical and musical tradition that has long shaped our life together, the Center seeks to form a new generation of musicians and worship leaders in the beauty and depth of Anglican worship.

In partnership with the Diocese of Alabama and Birmingham Episcopal Campus Ministries (BECM), the Center offers choral scholar residencies for university students who sing in the Parish Choir and, among other things, serve in both outreach and campus ministry. As a Royal School of Church Music affiliate, the Center also supports a range of programs—masterclasses, workshops, lectures, music lessons, and chorister training—all open to the wider community!

The Center reflects Saint Andrew’s mission to share the Gospel at the altar and in the street: lifting hearts to God through music that honors the Church’s ancient tradition while inviting fresh voices into it. We are proud to see this ministry growing here, in the heart of our parish and in the life of our city.

The ministry continues to take shape and grow, and we are ever grateful for the help you're able to give to get the word out and for your financial support. Read more in the packet below about ways to get involved.

If you or someone you know has questions, wishes to learn more, or would like to register for any programs, please contact Saint Andrew’s Organist & Choirmaster and Director of the Center, Cody Lawyer, at music@standrewsbham.org.
