Documentary Viewing
On Sunday, August 30, during coffee hour, Saint Andrew's is hosting a screening of Life for Jeffery Lee, a documentary examining the case of Jeffery Lee, an Alabama man incarcerated on death row whose case raises serious questions about justice, mercy, and the value of redemption.
Mr. Lee’s story is not simply a legal story: it is a human one. The film explores faith, forgiveness, and the belief that no person is beyond the possibility of transformation. It also examines Alabama’s history of judicial override, the now-banned practice that once allowed judges to impose death sentences even when juries voted for life imprisonment.
Following the screening, there will be a moderated Q&A with attorneys, advocates, and individuals connected to the case.
All are most welcome, so please spread the word! The screening will be in Trinity Commons (1170 11th Ave. South), with parking adjacent to the church. For more information, please contact Fr. Peter Helman, Rector (rector@standrewsbham.org).
