Baptism, Confirmation, & Reception
Baptism, Confirmation, & Reception
We are organizing a four-part series of conversations for those who are curious about and preparing for baptism, confirmation, reception, or reaffirmation of faith. These conversations will invite us to consider together what it means to belong to Christ and to his Church, to grow spiritually in prayer, and to live out our faith in daily life in service to the world.
Bishop Glenda Curry will join us on Monday, December 1 to celebrate and preach at our annual Feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle, a festive occasion not to miss. During her visit, she will bless our west lawn, where Saint Joseph’s House once stood, and celebrate the sacraments of baptism and confirmation, as well as receive and reaffirm those deepening their commitment in the Episcopal Church.
Along the way, we’ll read together poetry by Anglican poets and draw from former Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams’s Discovering Christianity: A Guide for the Curious (2025), a beautiful companion as we explore the shape of Christian discipleship.
If you’d like to learn more or take part in these conversations, please reach out to Fr. Peter Helman at rector@standrewsbham.org.
