Advent
Advent Begins!
We begin again this weekend in the season of longing and light. Plese come share the journey as Christ’s coming draws near.
Join us this weekend for the first of the four Sundays of Advent, as together we cross into a new year of the Church. In this season we find mingled the hope of every human heart for the perpetual light of God to break into our shadowed world—and into our shadowed hearts—to set us free from our fears and sins. Advent invites us to rest in the God whose judgment runs on into mercy, and to renew our longing for the One who comes.
Advent brings Christmas. As one hymn writer reminds us, Christ “comes from heaven above. His rule is peace and freedom, and justice, truth, and love” (“Prepare the way, O Zion,” Frans Mikael Franzen).
Join us as we begin this holy season and step together into the new year of grace.

Collect for the First Sunday of Advent
"Almighty God, give us grace to cast this mortal life in which your Son Jesus Christ came to visit us in great humility; that in the last day, when he shall come again in his glorious majesty to judge both the living and the dead, we may rise to the life immortal; through him who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen." (BCP 211)
