Solemn Choral Evensong
Solemn Choral Evensong of Remembrance
Sunday, September 21 | 5:30pm (Organ Prelude at 5:15pm)
On the first anniversary of the Five Points mass shooting, we will gather for a liturgy of Solemn Choral Evensong, commemorating the four lives lost—Anitra Holloman (21), Tahj Booker (27), Carlos McCain (27), and Roderick Lynn Patterson Jr. (26)—and pray for their families, friends, and all who grieve.
We will also remember before God the 17 others wounded that night, and all those in Birmingham and Jefferson County whose lives have been taken by gun violence in 2025.
Please join us for this service of prayer and song as we seek God’s healing for our city and for our hearts, and strength to meet the days ahead with devotion to the work of peacemaking and justice.
