Scam Alert!

Parishioners report almost weekly that they receive emails and text messages that appear to be from Fr. Peter Helman, requesting gift cards and other items for charitable purposes. Please be aware that these emails and text messages are fraudulent.

An example of one such email is the most recent scam email:

“Hello. Do you have some time. I have a request I need you to handle discreetly. I am currently busy, no calls so just reply my email. The Rev’d Peter Helman, Rector"

If you receive an email or text message from Fr. Peter asking for gift cards, money, or similar purchases, disregard and delete it immediately.

Fr. Peter will never ask for financial help by email or text message.

Please note: while responding to a scam email doesn’t usually expose a computer to malware, the greater risk comes from clicking links, opening attachments, and. certainly, by providing personal or financial information.
