Hope, Resistance, & Blessing
Please mark your calendars for an upcoming join-parish formation series devoted to exploring the heart of the Black preaching tradition.
In collaboration with All Saints' and Saint Mark's Episcopal Churches, Saint Andrew's will co-host a four-part series on Monday evenings throughout October—October 5, 12, 19, and 26. We'll gather from 6:00–7:30pm at Trinity Commons Episcopal Student Center (1170 11th Ave. South).
As part of All Saints’ weekly "Monday School," this informal series will explore the heart of the Black preaching through the reading and viewing of sermons by Sojourner Truth, the Rev’d Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Absalom Jones, the Rev’d C. C. Lovelace, and others. Together, we will listen for the distinctive voices, theological convictions, biblical imagination, and prophetic witness that have shaped this rich tradition of Christian proclamation.
Monday School provides space to share important conversations about the ongoing work of racial healing and reconciliation by striving to understand the impact of race on our lives, our ministry and witness as Christians, and our growth as disciples of Jesus.
Stay tuned for more information! All are most welcome!
