Feast of the Ascension

Please join us the evening of Thursday, May 14th for our celebration of the Feast of the Ascension, the fortieth day of Eastertide, when the Church commemorates the risen Christ taken from the sight of his disciples and return to the Father. The Ascension proclaims Christ’s glorious exaltation and his promise that God’s presence will no longer be limited to one place or one moment but will be poured out upon the whole Church through the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We will mark this festive occasion with a Choral Eucharist at 6:30pm, including a Solemn Procession and Station at the Door of the Church. Following the liturgy, all are invited to a simple champagne reception.

“I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.”
(John 14:18, 26; 16:7)
