All Souls’ Day

Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed
Monday, November 3 | 6:30pm

Dear friends in Christ,

This Monday, November 3, at 6:30pm, Saint Andrew’s will offer its annual Mass of Requiem for All Souls’ Day, when the Church throughout the world prays for all the faithful departed who have died in the hope of the resurrection.

We’ll gather to honor the memory of our loved ones, friends, and neighbors, bidding the light of Christ’s perpetual presence to shine upon them. We’ll solemnly commend them once more to the compassion of God, who “will wipe away every tear from their eyes” and in whom “death shall be no more” (Rev. 21:4).

By our prayers for those who have gone before us and now sleep the sleep of peace, we acclaim the saving work of Christ and pray that, united with them in the communion of saints—upheld by their prayers, inspired by their witness, and bound together in the life of Christ—we, too, may come to share in the inheritance of the saints in light, the redemption made known in his victory over the grave.

This service is commended especially to those whose loved ones have died since November 2024. We’ll also offer special intentions for the victims of homicide in Birmingham in 2025, and for those executed by the State of Alabama.

We’re privileged to welcome as our guest preacher the Fr. Dillon Green, Rector of St. Catherine’s Episcopal Church, Chelsea.

The requiem will begin with the solemn reading of the parish necrology, so please follow the link below to forward me the names of anyone you’d like included in the prayers.
