AAUW
The Birmingham Branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) will be holding their opening meeting of 2025-2026 at 10:30am on September 23 in Trinity Commons. We would like to invite members of St. Andrews — both men and women — to join us for the meeting and the luncheon following.
AAUW is an 144 year old organization promoting equity and education for women and girls. We are non-partisan and non-profit with over 170,000 members and almost 1000 branches. Our mission is to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. We conduct and fund research on issues relating to gender equity and work to influence national discussion on topics, such as the pay gap between women and men, sexual harassment in schools and college campuses, and the under-representation of women in fields of science and engineering. We try to serve as a catalyst for positive action.
The Birmingham branch works to support girls in STEM fields and to award scholarships to Birmingham City graduates who attend state colleges and universities. Membership is open to anyone holding an associate's, bachelor's or higher degree. It is regardless of gender, race, national origin, class or disability.
Come see who we are and enjoy lunch on September 13.
