2026 Stewardship Campaign | "Do justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly."
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
(Micah 6:8 KJV)

Dear friends in Christ,
As the vestry discerned a guiding focus for our 2026 stewardship campaign, we were drawn again to that beautiful and so familiar word of the prophet Micah: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8). "Do justice. Love mercy. Walk humbly." Each phrase moves us forward, urging intention and action.
Do justice. We stretch our hearts and minds toward the peace of God, a peace inseparable from God’s justice and redemption. Justice strives for transformation—social, personal, even cosmic. It is the quest for a world re-formed and renewed in peace, justice, and compassion, driving us outward to seek and serve Jesus in our neighbors.
Love mercy. Christ is alive in every person, impartially present and wholly his. Mercy is a sacred duty—persistent forgiveness, unconditional kindness, the patient striving for each other’s flourishing, no matter the personal cost.
Walk humbly. Set apart in quality from the commands to do justice and love mercy, humility is the posture of the journey itself, the self-offering of those who move forward with God, reverent, attentive, impartial, aware of our need and our own dependence on the mercy and justness of God.
This year’s stewardship campaign, at heart, is a re-dedication to our shared ministry to the Southside, our home, offering ourselves to God’s purposes and to the joy of serving Jesus in our neighbors. Together, we carry on the historic ministry of Saint Andrew’s, a haven and home, a place of rest in a weary world.
Thank you for these expressions of love, and for all that flows from them into the life of our parish and beyond. You can find more information below about the different ways to submit a pledge, as well as a message from our Stewardship Committee Chair, Barry Ousley.
Join us on Sunday, November 1, for our celebration of All Saints' Day and the conclusion of our stewardship season with our pledge ingathering and annual parish fish fry!
Yours faithfully in Christ,
Fr. Peter Helman
18th Rector of Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church
